Crossbow Shooting in Brussels : Information

Brussels is a fascinating city, rich in history, architecture, festivals, parades, religious ceremonies and trade guilds.

AND, one of the most interesting guilds is the Grand Serment Royal et de Saint-Georges des Arbalétriers de Bruxelles, or for the non-french speakers, it is the guild of crossbow shooting and crossbowmen.

While you will no longer see crossbowmen protecting the city of Brussels, as they once did, this is the perfect opportunity to get your hands on these medieval weapons and test out your skill, aim and accuracy during your stag do.

At this historic venue, which is usually closed to the public, you will get a lesson from an experienced member of the crossbow guild. While the guild is no longer protecting the city from intruders, they remain active for special ceremonies, festivals and teaching you stags how to shoot a crossbow.

The lads will simply love this activity and feel like they’ve been teleported back to the middle ages when the guild was first recognised in 1213 by the Duke of Brabant.
